This is pretty much a Train Wreck Express.
15k input grid stopper and shielded v2a are the only changes, it's in a Marshall style layout.
Perfectly stable with all knobs on 10 and just that slight TW hiss.
I was very suprised this amp sounded so great like this and without major band aids especially since I didn't follow the KF layout.

why are you surprised, innovation didn't die with KF and his way of doing things isn't the absolute best in the universe
Great build, btw.

Nothing wrong with going your own way on the build James.
Man you have a lot of large caps in this built.

All right, pretty sweet. I like tweaking on "established" designs myself.
Where do you get those rectifiers from? I'm looking for a source with a good price...

The ot is fantastic thanks! the amp sounds great. the pre amp and tonestack are wreck layout but mirrored due to tubes on the right rather than left.. it's really stable i've redone the tone stack since that pic...
Re: Latest Wreck Clone
I build all mine left-handed too! I guess it's the Marshall influence.

Re: Latest Wreck Clone
I'm about to do a left handed Deluxe with 6L6's because that's how the chassis is laid out. Otherwise I would be running my decoupling cap wires all of the way across the chassis for the preamp tubes which is can be a recipe for disaster (i.e. motorboating, etc..).
