I guess you missed where I'm in the house band for this one. I supply the guitar amps for the folks who want to come up and jam. We usually let people bring their own rigs, but we discourage it as it cuts into their time. We give the jammers 20 minutes, you can either plug and play, or setup your gear and play, either way... you get 20 minutes.
People think I'm crazy till I plug it in and they love the tone. GearHeads usually ask what amp I am using and I tell them a "Dumble clone" , They all say the same thing. "what's a Dumble amp" LOL. I tell them that its the kind of amp SRV and Robben/Carlton used and they say "ohhh". Its hilarious and happens every time.
Yea, very few people know about Dumble.

Yeah I ran an open mic for a year, I know that time is precious. LOL
Gotta keep the crowd interested, and you can't get the players frustrated :D

It sucks even more when you have limited space to set a rig up, I usually set my rig up in advance and when I'm ready to go up all I have to do is plug the power jack in and play.

What I find really comical is guys who come in with their $100 multi effects unit, then plug that cheezy thing into my rig, only to make it sound like a buzz saw. :)

I told him, "Do you know what your pluging into?". I told him what is was, he said "WTF is a t-wreck?", "is that some sort of dinasaur" LOL
