JCM800 2204 build

Post by M Fowler »

A while back I got a Marshall JCM800 2204 components kit from Triode for $299 shipped sol I couldn't resist. I used most of their components and substituted here and there. I had the faceplate but cracked it before I even got started.

Sounds good through English Celestion Vintage 30s but want to get some more green backs to try.

Cabinet is being build by Lopo Line right now.

Nice work MF! Don't you love that Magnetic Components iron! Some places the iron would have cost you $299.

Thanks,

Well the board is generic so that presents a problem and I ran out of room at the end thats why my diodes are like that and the bias pot is in front etc. I would rather of had the correct board. All of the rest of the parts were what I normally use other than the cloth wire I saved that for a Fender Tweed amp I am going to build.

I have been using Magnetic Components iron lately because the price allows me to built more amps and they sound good to my ears. The finnish is not as good as others they look messy from the coating but I can live with that.

That looks good Mark, I have a JCM build on the back burner, just finished a turret board for it, think the only thing I'm missing is can caps and iron... You really can't beat the deal on Mag Component iron, I've just been a little weary on it because of the price but I really haven't heard a bad thing about them yet. Think I'm gonna give them a try...

Bruce,

I think the Magnetic Components transformers are of high quality and cost effective, now that I like. :) But what the heck do I know about the subject.

Let us know when you get your amp finished always fun to see what everyone is building especial Andy LeBlanc's projects they are really interesting to me.
