Re: Ampeg V4 Correct Grounding
The V4 is very easy to work on if you need to replace any of the resistors or caps. All the components are right in front of you on the circuit boards. The thing was designed for easy maintenance, unlike your typical Fender amp.

Paul, I am very interested in your project. The reverb is very nice (I think mine uses a 6AN8, got to check that out.
If you have some schem and/or a preliminary layout, I'm in !!
I thought about the Matchless Superchief layout wise.

Re: Ampeg V4 Correct Grounding
Okay, so for anyone interested I have the cap/resistor values for the encapsulated module.
It's actually the same module as the SVT of the same era, which I found a schematic for with values on. And I've verified that against my SVP-CL which uses discrete components, so they all stack back.
Pin 1-2 470pF
Pin 1-3 220K
Pin 3-4 0.001uF
Pin 4-5 0.01uF
Pin 5-7 22K
Pin 6-7 0.0047uF
The inductor is 800mH, tapped at 100mH and 300mH.
Pin 4 is common, pin 3 is 100mH, pin 2 is 300mH and pin 1 is 800mH.

The inductor can't be very complicated, however, MM charges alot for it and I'm unaware of another vendor. Does anyone have a picture of it?paulster wrote:The inductor is 800mH, tapped at 100mH and 300mH.

(I'm pondering a build, if I can't find a V2.)

Re: Ampeg V4 Correct Grounding
As I have mentioned before this is first Ampeg I have opened up and it is laid out nice and clean. I am learning quite a bit on Ampegs in general. I will document as much as possible for future reference. Thanks Bob

Here's a good forum devoted to that particular amp. Several folks there have plenty of experience that you can draw on.
