VVR2 Placement Suggestions in 2204

For some reason I thought I would have lots of real estate to choose from to install VVR in my JCM800 clone. Guess it's been a while since I closed her up last.

Anyways, My first thought wast to keep the front looking stock and putting the knob on the back, like where you see the silly effects loop jack I installed. But, I don't know if that is too far for wires to travel.

Where should I put this thing. Any Suggestions? Which wires are the most important to keep short?
Should I put the board on the chassis side wall in front of the interior cap can, and maybe combine the power and standby switches into a 3 position DPDT to give the hole to the VVR pot?

Bottom pic.. on the right side where the cap can is. There is already a hole in the chassis on the front panel. Install the board on the side of the chassis.control in the hole.. Will have to make a hole in the faceplate.
May have to move the cap can back a smidge/maybe not,depending on what board you have to use. The newer board is smaller,and should fit. Then you have everything there close.
I did one of these with the older board. and used a thin heatsink on the side of the chassis. I'll see if i can dig up the pics. i may have posted them here before..
I also installed the .1uf cap and 1M resistor on small terminals at the tube mounting bolts.

ahh found it.. also in this thread is alot of info about VVR into a marshall.
Luckily the ceriatone chassis you have, already has a hole in the chassis..just have to make a hole in the faceplate.

Hey, thanks a lot Richie. You are a legend. I'll use that link to come up with a full plan. I'll use the VVR3 that recently arrived if it looks like my old extra VVR2 won't fit.

The main downside is that that chassis hole lines up with where the faceplate says JCM800 Lead Series, so it won't look too good. It would mostly hurt the resale value (my liverpool may have made my need for the 800 obsolete).
Do You see any issue with the Idea of the 3 position Standby/Power Switch in one? I think it would make the front aesthetically more pleasing and the VVR Knob would then be labeled "power".

And, by the way, that kind of interrupt loop is still useful if you put a Dumbleator, Kleinulator or a 'Larry' Loop (see Metroamp forum) outside around your effects.

Ya, maybe I'll leave it in. I did find it useful at one point for some competition, but I had to really make sure that switching on and off effects did not effect the volume unexpectedly.

I'll check out that Larry Loop thing.

Well, now that I'm laid off, I finally got around to this:

The VVR is installed and sure makes this amp much more of a contender. I'll have to A/B it with my Liverpool before I just up and sell it off for food...

I've been doing this while visiting my parents, so I also wired up their hammond to handle this Leslie 25. Of course, I modded the Leslie to use a 1/4 inch cable for the speaker making it much easier for guitar amp use too. The speaker is an Eminence Private Jack because it seems to give some better sounds all around than the original Alnico Jensen.
