Odyssey Power Amp...

...does anybody have a schematic or layout for one of these little beasts?

BTW, nice to see the board humming again. 8)

Specifically, I'm looking to find out how the 12BH7 is set up. Is it similar to the way the cathode driver in the SSS is?

Not much out there on this amp. Not sure if they are real Dumbles either.

I don't know but I will sell you the one in the bottom pic for $4500. It's sitting right here at the end of my couch.

Can anybody glean enough info to make some sort of layout/shemo out of the Odyssey posted above? This would be very cool to have to go with any D-style amp.

Looks to me like it's driving the power tubes off the plate, not the cathode, of the driver tube.

Yes it is...and I suspect it (the 12BH7) is being driven by a 12AU7 PI. After pooring over the photos, it's basically a Twin Reverb output but with a PI/driver setup (like a Dumbleland) and a Master Volume at the PI input.

To me it looks like

Tube 1 - Gain Stage and cathode follower.
Tube 2 - PI
The rest PA section.

Not much to replicate.

start with a fender PI and PA and roll your own Gain/CF

Hi,

AFAIR:

V1 = 12 AU7 = Phase Inverter
V2 = 12BH7 = Driver
V3 - V6 = 6L6

Cheers,

Max

Hi Gary,

AFAIR Alexander Dumble used a PI > driver structure in a lot of his amps. Here's another example from Rob Livesey's page: http://personalpages.manchester.ac.uk/s ... 086872.jpg

That looks right to me except you omitted the (.1?) coupling caps between the 12K plate resistors and bias mix resistors.
