MF cathode resistors?

Post by greiswig »

Hi, all,

Someone on this list said that all the Dumbles he's seen have had metal film resistors on the cathodes, not just the plates. Is there any reason to think that this might affect tone much, or was that just for stability?

Conjecture is sort of like punting on 3rd down...anyway, with HAD, you have to figure that he probably tried some different types and either liked the sound of MF better...or figured he'd minimize the number of vendors he dealt with...or the number of different types of parts he was using. They can't hurt stability and repeatiblility.
