HRP Series

Post by M Fowler »

I am in the middle of a Stephen Darkbluemurder #39 build using MC Marshall 100w OT and Heyboer 100w PT.

Sorry about the poor photos. I need to punch 50/50 can cap holes yet.

Food for Thought

Hmm... I have 100W Marshall iron & a big chassis/cab I've been wondering what to do with. This might be it.
Thanks Mark.

Such a big chassis and such a little board! Youre not over-compensating for something Fowler? ;)

Thanks guys.

Don, its a matter of not designing like some of you guys do such a good job with. Small board big iron love it. I know the components are suppose to be airy for better performance. Well I could start over.

The PT is from a Heyboer order a few of us TAG members had going for Dumble builds, but does that look like it would work with a CE Dumble chassis. Since it was a freebee I decided to use it on this project.

Next Marshall build will be JCM800 channel and a hot rod channel foot switching set-up. Like a Splawn QR or Nitro.

I'm watching closely Mark. Nice layout btw...

here's mine though I got "derailed" for a while pondering output tubes and impedances...

Mark, what's that little tranny for? Are you running DC heaters?

Surfsup, that is your nice layout as you well know  I like your eyelet board but I was lazy and had my press set-up for turrets so went that way.

Yes that is a Marshall style choke sir.

That faceplate is BNP Lazer designed by Colossal, a great guy :)

Thanks for the props. I see you weren't too fond of the PS layout board oh well. I'm still going to use it I think it will work well though I shoulda put the two big Rs to ground on the caps. but now if the cap is under the board, its all accessible on the board so its a give or take.

I'm going to dive into this again soon. I think i am going to order a whole new set of PT/OT for a difference chassis using the lower W output PA I plan to use.

Mark

Could you please comment on your use of the red PRP resistors throughout?
Any insights as to sound coloration or lack thereof?
