Dumble Book

Post by ampcrack »

Hi everyone,

I received my Dumble Book about 2 weeks ago.

A few days after I paid for it they sent me an email that my package was sent off and they even sent me a tracking number.

After the book arrived my first impression was: Wow! Well packaged and pretty heavy...

I've read it cover to cover and must say that Jesse Schwarz and the other authors are more than fair, perhaps even too nice about Howard Alexander Dumble. But in the Jack Smith Interview (Mr. Dumble's oldest friend) reality comes back to earth, which I find is a very nice balance.

OK, it's not a book about technical secrets or all the Dumble rumours, which I quess most expected. But still great pictures, a lot of backround information and very good interviews.

By the way, although I read many of the comments here and at other amp forums, I was a bit afraid that the whole thing is a fraud, and that they would just keep my money and probably never send the book. But to my surprise they replied to my questions pretty fast and everything worked very smoothly. They are in Europe, actually Luxemburg, not in Switzerland, and it's not a offshore bank or a number account!

P.S. they even marked my package as a gift! javascript:emoticon('8)')

Hi Mark,

what number or which part do you mean?

A friend of mine is a lawyer and he checked it for me.
He said it's your basic agreement. It's very much like the
agreements you find with: Amazon, Guitar Center and others.

Cheers,

John

I bought stuff at both of those places. I never signed an NDA.

Hi John,

as far as I remember "Amazon, Guitar Center and others" communicate where precisely to find their headquarters and offices on the real surface of this great planet. The author and publisher of "A Dumble Book" prefers to not give away where to find his office.

All the best

Hi Max,

you're right!

On their homepage site - no address.

But when I got the book, there was a complete
address in Luxembourg on it. Which is OK for me.

Cheers,

For the price asked, you can be sure this book is self-published, so he has a lot of sunk cost to recoup. I'm sure a lot of people appreciate the book, and he must have taken quite a financial risk in getting it printed.
