Chassis: Where do you get them?

Post by pula58 »

For a Dumble style build, where do you folks get your chassis?

Steel or Aluminum?

Are you folks getting blank chassis and punching the holes for the tubes by hand?

Thanks!

Is cepedals.com working for you? I'm getting page-not-found errors.

Never mind - the web site must've been down.

I have one chassis with a blank logo area left from the last build I did - 3 preamp holes, 4 power. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll shoot you the details.

Hey Guys,

I spend most of my time over on the Trainwreck side of TAG but used to be over here a bit. I have several of these if anyone has a bug to bring them to life. This was a project I was working up with my son to help him payoff a debt to his mother and teach him some useful skills otherwise. Eventually he decided that higher education was better than being my shop assistant no matter how many free cool amps he got out of the deal... probably a good career choice for him. I think we made a half dozen of each style of them and I want a few for myself but there are a several that will be left over.

I have been way too busy to do the past few steps to to make these build ready much less build one for myself. I'll try to sell them for a reasonable fee to anybody here in the TAG forum if somebody doesn't mind doing the final prep work. They are pre-punched for Edcor or Fender iron.

I make my own from blank chassis. Apply graphics with sticky backed vinyl from local printers for which I do the art work on Coreldraw. Its alot of work but you have total control over all of its features. Costs me about £35 to make each chassis.

Drd

I tried to get my local vinyl graphics guy to use my corel draw faceplate data files but they insisted to use their software and I can't find anyone else in the area that can make the decals/faceplates in vinyl The rat bastards! Of course they need to make money as well with setup fees.
