New Champ AA764 PTP build
Finally got around to building my Champ AA764 PTP for fun and giggles.
High input gets the dirt for some low volume fun.

Very nice Mark!! How does she sound? I like the caged chassis.
Re: New Champ AA764 PTP build
Dave, thanks
It sounds like a Champ
Quiet, nice clean low input but high input snorts at that low volume sometimes necessary to keep peace in the home front
. It looks good next to the recent Bassman 5b6 I did.

Maybe a vibrochamp but no reverb.
Re: New Champ AA764 PTP build
I had to change out that pilot light you see in these pictures I got them from apexJr. No matter how I wired it no good. I tried all of the lights with battery as well and I cannot get it to light up. Has a terminal on each side and center terminal (?ground). Dam near burnt up the amp trying to wire that light.
Anyone got suggestions?

Bad bulb?

No I checked every assembly all the same with good filament in the bulbs themselves. I do have a pack of bulbs and can try replacing each one (4) and see if that makes a difference. Why is there three connections?

Hmm, I think that's like the one I got from Apex that I used on one of my amps. Is there continuity between the two tabs on the sides? The tab at the end should go to the base of the lamp. I'd take the bulb out and use your meter to see where there's continuity between the tabs and the internal socket. Sometimes the base of the lamp doesn't make good contact with the socket, as well.
Maybe it's a bi-color like Crate uses - amber for Channel A and red for Channel B.

Yeah, I checked, it's exactly like the one in my cakepan amp. I connected to the end tab and one of the side tabs.
