Here is a Stereo Loop-a-lator I whipped out the other day for a buddy of mine.

Looks nice!
So you are having pcb's made now for them?

Where would a feller get one of those chassis if he wanted to make a single D-lator?

Great looking build Funk, thanks for sharing.

Have you abandoned your grounding bus wire scheme that you used on Loop-o-Lator 1 and letting in/out jacks ground to the chassis?

Do you use chokes only on D'lator II as per original or have you started to use them on D'lator I also?

So many questions........ :D

Cheers, Paul.

Beautiful!

Very tidy. In fact, so clean I could eat off it!!!

I'm curious as well as to how you managed to avoid ground loops with the "real deal" grounding arrangement. I had major ground loop issues with my mono Dumblelator after having copied the original grounding scheme. Isolating the pots and jacks and running them to a common preamp ground solved that.

Is that a Hammond 154G choke or something? Doesn't look like a C-3X...

Thanks for the pics!

I looked at Mouser trying to find that rack chassis.

The one I saw that kind of looks like that was $114!

Is that the one you guys use?

When I built my loop, I used Mouser part# 546-RMCS19018BK1 which is 8 inches deep and costs $62.32.
Looks like Funk is using the 13" deep chassis which is part# 546-RMCS190113BK1 ($73.32)

From the pics I've seen, it looks like Dumble used 8 inch deep chassis for the Mono versions and 13 inch for the Stereo.

Thanks, yeah if I was to build one I would probably choose a much smaller enclosure.
Seems like a lot of real estate for the components used.
Not really interested in cloning it exactly.
But I wonder why those rack enclosures are so expensive?

the power supply is too big to fit it in an 8" chassis.

The Choke is custom made.

The Chassis was $55 when i bought it, perhaps they've gone up?

the whole thing grounds the same way it did with the Bus, look closely at the pictures, you'll see it all grounds at the Star grounds behind the boards.

The 8" are currently running about $57.00 at mouser. Not sure on the 13".

So how did the .027uf sound?

I ended up with .02150, the .027 was a bit gnarly sounding.

I actually preferred the subtle 500pf mica, but I know that the fellow getting this one has a real Dumbleator II and will expect that HUGE bright cap sound.

that is about the same, a .022uf MPP works nice there. I am sure the green chiclet mylars would also sound good.

But, in reaility, WHO really uses the bright cap on the send side :). (unless you are feeding it to a PA or mixer off stage).
