Besides his ever changing supply of components he has on hand I didn't see anything strange from the series of internal pics.

Looks like a standard 2xx HRM to me.

Does anyone know about that first grid resistor? I have seen one or two other pictures of amps in the early 200 range with that same type of resistor.

The iron in this amp is called the TF series which was manufactured by TMI (transformer manufacturers incorporated). Magic Parts who use to be their distributor stopped selling these around 2002-03 when they replaced their TF line with that of another manufacturer (Marvel Electric Corp.).

TMI: www.tmitransformers.com/
Marvel Electric Corp.: http://www.marvelelectric.com/

TF-130: Twin Reverb PT
TF-170: Marshall 100W OT. Prim: 1730 Ohms, 20Hz-20kHz.
TF-155: Twin Reverb choke, 3 Henry, 90 Ohms DC res.

Judging by the pics, it looks like this is #204.

So that was the uniqueness you were referring to?

The pics of the iron weren't in the 53-58 series you mentioned.

I noticed he didn't run ground wires to the speaker and EFX loop jacks.. Not really that big a deal until the jacks work lose..

The link doesn't work for me :(
I only get a grey screen with some inactive buttons.
Any tips?

No, certainly feel free to look at all the pics there.

When you say it, "looks like a standard 2xx HRM to me." How many later generation OD Specials have you been inside to warrant such a statement? Tell us more!

Given ChrisM's assessment, I guess we should call these amps, "Overdrive Normal". Nothing to see here folks!

Well you said look closely, so I thought there was something there out of the ordinary.

I am HAD so I actually built that amp :P

Come on now, don't get worked up. Ive seen pics of a few ODS amps and I just thought there was something special (read out of the ordinary) with this amp.

Only thing I did notice was weirdness on the output tubes. Odd "cathode" resistors, only two tubes have them. Also what are with the 2R resistors that look like caps?
