Two channel AFD 39 started

Post by M Fowler »

Have a Sour Mash cab that would not fit a Ceriatone HRM BM chassis as advertised and the builder was an ass to deal with, so I'm doing this custom two channel AFD 39 in the cab.

Fender clean channel one and AFD 39 4 tube high gain channel two, 50w power section.

Mark

Pulling up a seat for this one.
I've been looking at AFD & DBM for 1 channel.

Appetite for Destruction (AFD) think Slash. http://www.slashsworld.com/equipment/am ... ll-o-mine/

DBM = darkbluemurder a guy named Stephan that on Metro forum uploaded a schematic for the DBM #39 AFD Marshall amplifier. It was rental amp #39 that Slash used on the AFD album. A Marshall tremolo amp converted to four gain monster.

Glad to see more of your builds Mark, there's a lot of stuff going on in this amp. Looks great.
You ever seen that photo of Joe Bonamassa of all his guitars and amps?
You should do the same with all your amps, if you still have them.

Thanks guys I hope to get this finished soon and hand off to a busy local guitarist in need of a new amp.

We will be moving maybe next year or so and that would be a good time to assemble all my amps and speaker cabs for a photo maybe I can get Joe Bonamassa to join in.

No need to heat the house in winter, just flip on a few amps until it warms up.

Nice!

Nice collection of builds!
Which one would you choose if you had to pick only one--or maybe a few.

JCM800 2204 combo loaded with WGS Veteran 30 speaker would be my first choice for gigging amp.

My favorite high volume high gain amp is the HRP 100w head built from Darkbluemurder's AFD #39 schematic what a fun machine for hard rock very dynamic and loads of harmonics.

Either the Reverb Rocket with 6550 power section head for clean or the 2Rok JM Signature head. They both have nice reverb and great for clean tones but the Rocket runs out of headroom faster. If your mic'd it would be fine on larger venues. The rjguitars Rocket combo with reverb is also a great amp.

The rest I would have no problem parting with.
