LedZepp007,
Do you have a schematic of the GDS amp you are monkeyin' with? It sounds kind of odd, as I often see only one triode for the normal cahannel when there is a TMB channel also. I don't believe I've seen a schematic for an amp the has a TMB channel AND a tremolo channel.
Just Curious Here,
Gene

All I have for TMB is a layout. I'm piecing together different layouts along with my ideas and will try and upload it later. It does seem to be a bit different from some others. I am trying to avoid posting Graydon's work here, but I suppose it's all open source anyway.

Better. Wiring heaters takes practice and it's generally the least fun part of wiring an amp

There are tricks you can use however. Try this: take a meter long pair of red and black wire. Insert one side of the pair into the chuck of a drill and tighten. Then, holding the other end of pair tightly and pulling away from the drill to maintain tension, energize the drill at a low rate of speed. Continue to maintain tension on the other end! This will give you a very uniform and tight twist. Don't keep going with the twist too far as this is unnecessary and will only serve to break the strands inside the wire (assuming you use stranded wire for your heaters, of course). It may take some tries to get the technique down but it does produce a great looking twisted pair. You then cut peices off your single length to make the individual runs between each socket.

So, in theory, and if I am reading it correctly, it is best for the wires going the furthest from the wiring harness (in this case, I think pins 4 and 5 of the 12AX7's) to go OVER the socket rather than around it? It's worst if one run goes on one side of the socket while the second run goes on the other side, correct? Although, this is exactly what the GDS manual shows.

There are several ways to wire filament leads. In the Dumble and Fender approaches, the twisted leads are above the socket, in the z-axis. You would want them about 1.5" (40mm) above the sockets in that manner. In the Marshall approach, the leads are laid against the chassis, in the back corner with the 4/5 and 9 preamp pins laying against the chassis and in parallel. There are other approaches, but these two have a proven track record for most builders.

Here is much of the wiring completed. Feedback greatly appreciated. Of note, most of the B+ connections are under the board. Thanks.
