There is an error on the Ceriatone layout in that the DC feed to the reservoir cap should come from pin 8.
I looked at the layout and uppers coming of pin 2 again.
?
Ceriatone shows a wire going from rectifier socket pin 2 to the standby switch. This wire should be connected to pin 8.
Martin I agree with you it should be coming out of pin 8.
I was saying Nik has been known to show pin 2 on other layouts as well and thanks to TAG members pointing that out builders are aware of using the correct pin 8 connection. Thanks Martin. I'll more clear next time maybe.
Thanks guys,I'm going to need some help now,I want to go over my transformer hookup and have you guys look over the board.all I have is the iPad for pics, ill figure that part out.as always I thank you guys for your help, couldnt do it without you peeps, mikey
Board,Now that last cap gets a 270/10 or 20 watt .I believe there is a Bias, not sure how to rap that part up??Thanks,I fixed the mistake on the rec to the standby

Mike,
10W is what is called for in the original fender schematic for the Cathode biased tweed pro. But I prefer to use a 20W as it does get pretty warm. I use a higher voltage PT though. I think I crunched some numbers once and it looks like 14w would be ideal, but hard to find.
I think you said you were going with the 270 ohm resistor so 10W might suffice. I use 250 ohm.
One thing regardless is to keep some space between the Cathode resistor and the bypass capacitor. The heat from the resistor will cook the cap.
Question, why the large size cathode cap on the V1 ? it only sees around 2v . 25VDC is overkill even.
Thanks Billy, yes,I'll switch that out today,ok,Mark you should be glad I'm even wearing shoes, that means I may have actually had to leave the house that day.Remember I'm the guy with the ketchup stained tshirt and sweatpants.Sometimes I don't leave the house for a week

Mike , you don't have to change it out. I was just curious as to why. I would have used what ever was in my box too. Did you use the 25uf ( or 22uf) ? No real sonic difference between 22 and 25uf . now 220uf more low end maybe. But you will find the 5e3 to have plenty as is, especially with the coupling caps you have ( stock values).
The most important thing is to put some air between the Power tubes Cathode Resistor and the Bypass Capacitor.

Just click your heels ... "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"
Allright enough about footware Where or who carries 250, 270 or,300 / 10 watt resisters.Anybody know.Im going to put the board in tomorrow.Dave tuned me up on the transformer wiring today. With this new Ipad I will do some vids of this amp for sure.Getting excited now. Thanks Gentlemen!
You can certainly find 10W resistors at Mouser, and I'm pretty sure that Parts Express in Dayton has 10W Xicon cement resistors in those values. As usual the shipping will be more than the cost of the parts unless you load up the order with other stuff.
