Yeah but from the linked threads it seems there is supposed to be a discrepancy between the layout and schemo right. The amp sounds fantastic but he bass channel does have significantly less bass when compared to the Normal channel. If you snoop around a little on the web you’ll hear a 50/50% of people describing their bass channel like I do and the other half describe it as dark and wooly.

Do you not see anythinng different in the scheme vs layout Martin?

I don't get that from the discussion, which seems to be saying that in some examples the physical layout does not match the printed layout/schematic. The printed schematic and layout are the same as far as I can see.

Maybe my schematic reading isn’t as bad as I thought lol I went over them both and I couldn’t figure out where they differed so I thought I was missing it.

There should be a resistor from the third lug of the bass pot to ground. I don't see that in your picture...?

Just note that in regards to the typical Fender tone stack the higher you go over the the stock value of the slope resistor or the mid pot , the less responce you will get out of the Bass and treble controls.

In short there is no way to get a mid boost out of the Fender tone stack!

You're right! It's hidden underneath the wire in the one I was looking at.

So I have a 6G6B and my bass channel is also pretty trebly with little bass that this thread mentions but all the pics of the correct way to wire it have been lost in threads that are linked. Can anyone help me fill in the blanks. As it stands mine is wired like the 6G6B layout is drawn but apparently this isn't accurate?
How long have you had this amp, and has it always sounded this way?
How do the bass and treble pots respond? Like, what happens if you turn up the bass and turn down the treble?

I must admit that I'm also asking because I've been curious about this particular circuit lately, even considering building a preamp like it. It's kind of a fascinating setup, that channel.
By design, the bass channel is quite a bit different than the normal channel so they are bound to sound different. But you'd think they wanted to get more bass out of the bass channel, not the other way around...

I bought the amp and refurbished it little over a year ago and have had nothing but great tone out of it since although I rarely use the bass channel. I can get by fine with the bass channel but I keep stumbling on these threads where this “wiring error” is brought up. According to the description in these threads I question whether my amp has this “error”
