Cellphone do not call list

Post by skyboltone »

WARNING...

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this week.
REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls.
BAD NEWS.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20 seconds.
or go to http://www.donotcall.gov

Yeah, whatever but I still registered my phone.

What about these damn spam text messages I get every so often?

That is illegal right? and it costs me money......since I don't have it as part of my plan.

Thanks Drew:
Seems there is no shortage of naivety around this bend in the shore. I've notified all 11,000 of the people I forwarded the message to. I've also registered my cellphone with the donotcall list. Seems whenever I give my phone out to some website or another while buying parts or whatever that I get spammed on the old cellphone. Good thihg it's all phony.

I get cellphone spam all the freakin' time. It's annoying as I answer every call since I do business this way.

Here in Canada, and I believe in the US as well, if you text the word "STOP" to a text spammer they are legally obligated to cease and desist. One of my daughters had a hell of a time with her phone and was able to completely solve the problem with a few STOPs.

YMMV
