It reminds me of frailing on the banjo with some tapping thrown in. Nice Axe, too :D

I love Knut Reiersrud! Actually, the playing on the clip could be inspired by Knut. He did some of the same stuff a few years ago, without so much slapping and tapping though. The sound is very similar to the norwegian "harding fele", which is a fiddle with 4 additional strings, that are strung between the fingerboard and the neck, in a hollow out channel. It resonates with the four other strings, making a very special sound.

Magnus ( in the clip) is playing at a festival I help organize, and Knut Reiersrud played there a couple of years ago...electric that time though..

I've said it before on another forum; (maybe here too, I can't remember). I think there is more really neat stuff coming out of Norway than any other country right now. American indie stuff has been taken over by the loonys and I'm just unaware of what the rest of Western Europe is doing maybe. Anyway, these guys are my favorite Norwegians
