solder iron for hard times
I resorted to rigging this "odjet d'art" to keep at it off grid thru these, and the hard times comin'. Most fabrication can continue with intermittent power or hand tools but dressing a circuit requires an iron or course, and a bit more electrical demand than a solar/battery rig can provide. And,... it's a good thing to work when you can even after the sun goes down. Bottled propane is cheap, portable and practical.

Nice! I actually have a bernz-o-matic soldering iron that works passably well with butane.

Now all we have to do is find a way to power amplifiers with a propane bottle.

There's this company, Devilwatt, they make piezo generators for stove tops and wood stoves, it is possible. Cram the stove full and jam a bit,...

The 3500W is considerably less expensive, at the moment, than the 1400W. Hurry while they still have them.
