Metroamp forum down

Post by capgreed »

I've had trouble to connect to the metro forum lately and thought it perhaps was because i'm an european ....But no , stumbled upon a response from george on rig talk :

http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewtopic ... 3&t=150266

apparently it may be possible that the metro amp forum 's invaluable knowledge ressource is lost forever .... Only because of a virus which broken down a server

i mean ...shit

Oh man... Shit indeed!

I hope he can work this out

I'm in works with lots of Marshall layouts since few months (Superleads, REAL single triode powered tremolo 'Bluesbreaker', JTM45's, Majors, etc...) As soon as Metro forum will be up I will be happy to donate them. I owe Metro all Marshall knowledge I have

Damn... Fingers crossed

Damn, another bummer this month. That reminds me, what ever happened to Novosibr?

Anyone else find that rig-talk thread hilarious? Good to know the spirit of the Metro forums is still alive.

Sorry to hear about that Miles, they say the secret to longevity is to "keep it moving".

Keep hydrated my friend.

It's funny. I mean, some people think it's funny..

There must be a childish rhyme in there somewhere.

I had to think about that metaphor for a while. Then I remembered, I used to have a Triumph Spitfire with a bad rear end. It made a horrible grinding noise and vibrated badly at speeds above 60mph. I guess I can relate after all.

It's pretty intense when they do that "EVH tone" thing. The problem is that they're all trying to mimic a cranked 100w Plexi at bedroom/mouse fart volumes and aren't realizing when the voltage on the tubes goes up that the amp fattens up.

They all think they can get the exact same tone with PPIMV, cap mods, stomp boxes, etc so they don't wake the baby in the next bedroom, or piss off the wife.

And they're all right individually and the next guy is DEAD WRONG.

It gets frigging old, to say the least.
