That's so bad... But I couldn't hold back from laughing. Stupid ass media.

It's a terrible thing and I feel for those involved.

Which is reason enough in itself not to exploit a tragedy or poke fun at someones heritage by posting a link just to get a laugh

Pilots were most likely Korean anyway.

Was that a real newscast? I wouldn't doubt it because I know just how stupid the repeaters are. Just asking.

Yes it was, production assistant changed text and you know the talking heads will read exactly what's in front of them.

Sorry. I couldn't help but pass this on. My buddy in California actually saw this on TV. Then he found it on youtube.

I feel as badly for the victims as anyone. The joke was not the names, it was that a talking head really said that on air.

Again, sorry.

I believe this was aired in the San Fransisco Bay area. Here is KTVU's public apology, where they state that the NTSB in fact, corroborated the names, though it was a "summer intern who acted outside the scope if his authority" who took the call at the NTSB.

Still amazing that no one at KTVU caught this before it was force fed into the teleprompter.

Read from a teleprompter. Good. If they made eye contact with me I'd be on the next plane to kick their asses for questioning my moral authority.

A real tragedy. No question about it.

Regardless, that clip is funny. I can laugh at that clip yet still respect the tragic loss of life from what appears to be pilot error.

The unnecessarily lenghtyapology video includes the original news clip. Pretty daft move. "We got pranked yesterday, sorry for any hardship caused" would be enough IMO.

Benny Hill used to do this regularly on his TV show in the 70s, when China was like some archane enemy who supported the North Koreans and the Viet Cong. Nowadays its not PC.

She is going to go far in that industry. A real pro. Complete separation of thought and action. If I were her boss there would be a large raise involved to keep her around. Otherwise she may move on up to politics!
