I am looking at one of these on a run-out price. Was planning to use the 4 channels as a line-in interface between my desk channel inserts and my lappy for recording on the move. I've heard mixed reports about the pre-amp quality, but wondering whether it'd still be good for going between a desk and a computer (where the desk pre-amp is 24 bit 192kHz)? Any opinions/comments welcome.

I have no experience with the device. I use MOTU audio interfaces.
The specs reveal the supported sampling rates as 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96 kHz. So it won't allow full fidelity of you outboard/desk 24 bit 192kHz quality to pass through. That being said, it still may provide decent fidelity even at 44.1 (and the file size on your DAW drive will be much smaller than a 192kHz file).

No experience here either. Unless forced to by someone else's specs the highest sampling rate I ever use is 48k, but never lower than 24bit.
Seems very inexpensive.
