Is hearing your kid practicing guitar in their bedroom.
My daughter just spent the last couple of hours practicing in her room, but the amp was loud enough for me to hear downstairs, first going over things she learned, and then doing some noodling.
I wasn't sure she was going to be serious about it, and I bought her some Fender production amp (tube and built-in digital fx) until I was sure she was going to stick with it.
Pretty sure she's hooked. Time to fire up the iron...

Nice Lefty. Something I hope I can look forward to when they get a bit older.

Play around them. And don't practice the things you love in isolation. If I had it to do all over, there would be a piano in our household from the time they were infants, and we'd be gathered around it, rather than a TV.katopan wrote:Nice Lefty. Nice Lefty hope they stick with playing.
I gave my kids SS amps until they showed me interest in owning an amp that has the family name on it, Fowler. Now they have so many of my guitars and a few amps which makes me proud

I hear you Lefty! My 14 year old son has been playing bass for the last 3 years. Getting quite good. We get to sit around and play together....good times!
He's due for a real amp now....never built a bass amp. He's talked about having me help him build one.
Have a friend who's got a nice upright he wants to trade for a guitar amp so that's next on the list.

at least you got that much, my old man reckoned i would never learn to play a guitar and should stick with piano, never say never, he did eat his words when i pulled of a few classic lizzy numbers at a gig a few years laterStructo wrote:You guys are cool Dad's!

My grand daughter is 4 now and she's literally grown up underneath me playing. Now she's 4 and has developed a sense of time with the music. Pretty soon I need to get her a guitar as she's just about ready.
Now my dad, would follow me up with the tv until his volume stopped and then he would beat on the wall to let me know that was it on the volume.

Absolutely 5E3 it'll teach her how to interact with an amp and how to control overdrive, and sounds clean enough low if she's a jazzy type (it was supposedly the Blue Note studios house amp). If that's too much volume 4U you can build a 5F1 but better you go see a movie and let her ROCK OUT with a Deluxe.LeftyStrat wrote:Pretty sure she's hooked. Time to fire up the iron...
