Mine are killing me too. Seattle is kind of crazy right now, some plants are coming up like it's spring.

I haven't decided which is worse, the allergies or the meds for allergies.

Lefty, I lived in the Spokane area for many years before moving to NM. I used to have moderate allergies every spring, mostly from Ponderosa pine trees. Here in NM, my worst allergies are actually in the fall. This is the first time I've ever been hammered like this in the winter though.

I grew up in SC and the ragweed pollen affected me so much when I was a kid that my eyes would swell shut and my parents would have to take me to the emergency room. A shot or two of cortisone a year was par for the course.

The pines got to me when I lived in Georgia.

Not sure what it is in Seattle. My wife is really affected by Scotch Broom, but that isn't blooming here yet.

I've been to NM quite a few times, love it. Seemed to be the least allergy-inducing place I've been. I have a friend that lives north of Albuquerque, took us to some interesting artist village. Beautiful country.

I take the generic Claritin every day. Every day without fail. I went to an allergist years ago for extensive (and expensive) testing. Tests came back that I'm allergic to nearly everything. The pills make it bearable ...... most of the time.

I had a friend that went through the testing, and told me, "Don't even bother on the test to see if you are allergic to formaldehyde." I asked him why anyone would need to be tested for that, and he explained it was in everything.

I learned years later when washing a dog with cheap shampoo.

Lefty, I am in Farmington, which is kind of the armpit of the state - well, one of them anyway. This is big oil & gas country.

Artist's village - sounds like Taos. Yes, it is beautiful there.

Since moving here, I've never been so freezing cold in my life, and the allergies hit me much harder than they did in the PNW.
Don't you boys know any NICE songs?

Oh great now you gave me your cold thanks Miles. I'll just step out side to the deep freeze maybe that will take care of it.

Oy, I can relate. Winter, spring, summer, fall, doesn't matter. If it isn't the pollen, it's dust or mold. Plenty of molds in winter, by the way, and don't get confused about winter pollens - there are so many non-native plants everywhere that bloom at different times. Love the African plants and trees, like Acacia - you can see the pollen coming at you and it feels like sand when you breathe. Actually, look at electron microscope photos of pollen - scary shit!

Had allergies since being a little kid, had tests, shots, prescription drugs. Now rotating through 2-3 OTC drugs, all year long, since too long on one makes it ineffective for me.

Miles - get a prescription for something if OTC doesn't work - there are plenty that don't make you sleepy or say really weird, interesting, funny things. Then again...

Cheers,

Greg

Mark, I didn't give you anything but a hard time. I 'traded' my extremely awesome physical malady (EAPM) for your DR103 kit.

I go wait by mailbox now. -wheeze-

I am one of those people who is affected oddly by drugs. Sometimes you expect peppy and you get sluggo. Some of this stuff is like umm... no wonder people crash spaceships.

Or that time Mr T chopped down all of those acres of trees on the old Armour estate in Chicago.

Juniper is a reliable, year-'round pollen factory. Elm is high too.

Googe "New Mexico pollen count" or go to pollen.com to see what's making it happen for you in your area.

G'luck!
