Malware Warning !!! ???

Post by John_P_WI »

Guys,

This morning Chrome is giving me a malware warning when clicking on certain topics in the Tech section stating that Amp Garage is a known malware site WTF??? Anyone else notice this? BTW, you must be logged in and the warning popped up when looking at the "junkbox trainwreck" thread.... Any insight & Thanks.

Yeah, I absolutely hate google, Chrome just happens to be what I use here. Interestingly, I did not get the warning on the same thread yesterday... Hmmm.

Attached is a screen capture of Chromes warning:
"Malicious software is hosted on 1 domain(s), including coolnameshop.cn/.

This site was hosted on 1 network(s) including AS46606 (BLUEHOST)."

Who is using the site listed as a host ?
x.cn is a Chinese site if that means anything.

I got the same warning on Comodo Dragon which is based on Chrome.

It may have to do with a photo hosting site or something off the server but I'm not sure.

I just got it too and ignored it. They don't make it immediately obvious but you can find the (slightly paraphrased) "Chrome is wrong but ashamed to admit it, let me see the damn page already!!" link next to the button that takes you back a page.

Chrome settings(advanced) shut off phishing and malware detection. Use a third party add on if you want to use Chrome.

I suppose one browser or another has destroyed us all. :)

So, it's definately from here, or is an infection sniffing you through a net proxy with your browser?

I can read any text fine, but all attachments through the whole forum are being blocked by the security software at work and have been for a few weeks or so. At home or on my phone attachments work fine.
