Amp Nation new logo and shop upgrade!

Post by amplifiednation »

We've got a new look!! It's still me though... Hope to have this logo on some custom cabs and amps ASAP! For those of you who are already citizens of the Amplified Nation, I will send you logos for your cabs!

Thanks for everything you guys have done in the past year and a half to help us crank out over 250 custom cabinets and build a fantastic business that keeps me busy every week!

I just did a major shop upgrade the past two weeks and restored some beautiful vintage machinery...a 1974 Powermatic 66!

These still need to be lacquered by one of our brethren...but man did they look cool! Just finished these on Friday...

Thanks to all of you for everything! Please keep the orders coming!

Image is broken.

I'd love to see some shop photos, especially of your restored equipment.

I just added a shop photo of the new saw...thought the camera was out of batteries...the saw still needs some paint, but I was out of commission for about a week and I needed to get back to work!

Nice saw!
I've been building Cabinets(kitchen) For years on an old craftsman from the 50's.It still purs right along.

I've got a Joiner from the same era that Iuse all the time
and a dewalt radial armsaw That i never use but it looks cool.

I'm mighty jealous of your INCRA gauge .Been wantin one of those for a while.

That shop is to clean!I want to mess it up.

Thanks guys - I have to keep things neat or it gets impossible to work in that space. Wood chips and tolex are a BAD combination, like really bad.

The saw has the original 3hp 3 phase motor in it. I bought a variable frequency drive that produces the third phase and restored an old Marshall cabinet for a master electrician to wire 220v to a fused disconnect right by the saw and a "new outlet in the kitchen" so I could slide it by the boss.

The drive can be controlled by a SPST switch I installed on the saw, and is programmable for a soft start and 3 second stop.

I never knew much about this type of power, but it was really interesting to learn and definitely ups my man status having industrial power in the basement.

Here's a before and after of the Marshall cab. I don't usually do 412's anymore, but I made an exception. Swapped out the cloth, recovered to black levant, and replaced the rivets from silver to gold.

Agreed!

Those mighty fine examples of Taylor's work are heading my way! ...just a shame I'll be lacquering them, adding an amp and speaker, and sending them along to another :(

That's a real nice table saw setup, Incra Miter gauges are great! - they sure do make life a little easier in the woodshop.

Congratulation on your progress Taylor, if you have grown during these hard times imagine what is coming your way once the economy gets better!

A few weeks back you told me to contour the metal corner covers with a rubber mallet. I just finished a Blonde Bassman Cabinet for a friend and, just like you instructed, the procedure worked nicely. Thank you again for the tip!

All the best.

Horacio,
Great to hear about the corners! That makes all the difference, also the countersinks!

Make sure to file off the heads of those oval head screws, they can get really sharp if the drill puts any burrs in the slots.
