Live radiation monitoring in California!

Worth checking out if you're in California. Not sure what's gonna happen, but I know you can't trust the news or the government. From my understanding a reading or around 100 should cause some alarm.

I'm more concerned about long term effects in the food chain.
It'll be interesting to see how the knee jerk responses to this crisis affect the global energy economy.

A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945
I've had some DOE radiation training and while I think there's some minor concern, I also believe that fear is the ultimate money maker.
Here's something to ponder over. It's kind of long, but make sure and watch it until the end.

Boy that number jumps all over the place.
Interestingly, the Japanese government is not releasing live gamma level readings in Fukushima where the reactors are.
This is a cool graphic but I don't know who to believe.

There was another map showing Oregon as having a higher level than surrounding states.

Yeah, I dunno.
Plus different agencies use different units to measure.
The rem or micro seivert (sp) among others.
Probably to confuse the public.

Tokyo Electric Power is BS ing the Japanese Gov't and the Gov't is apparently content to go along with this cover-up. The people don't believe either of them and are voting with their feet.
They're both going to look pretty stupid if this goes to Code 7, which is Chernobyl (now at code 5).
If it does not get any worse, I doubt we will see anything serious on the West coast of North America.

Thanks guys - interesting - I'm headed for California next week and I appreciate the heads up.
Nothing toxic has killed me yet, but I'll keep you posted.
Best of luck to all those affected though.

It's not up anymore it seems. Everything must be OK. I think they just needed a short distraction to start a new war.
Re: Live radiation monitoring in California!
That is what caught my attention.
Hey look over here, we're bombing Lybia.
Pay no attention to that nuclear reactor that is just about to melt down and radiate thousands of people.
For crying out loud, last night on the national news it was almost 20 minutes before they mentioned Japan and the reactors.
