What does you bench look like?

Post by boldaslove6789 »

I was curious to what ever body's bench looked like.......

Here's mine, little messy but I live in a one bedroom apartment so my bench used to be my kitchen table, who eats there anyways :D. With the help of an old DJ road case its up and running. I use an old mic stand for my light so I can adjust it to wherever I want. Gotta have the fans blowing on low in here to circulate solder fumes. You Dig :?:

one of the best parts of repairing tube amps from an equipment stand point.. tubes haven't advanced so you can pick up a quality scope for next to nothing! the HP cost me under $20 and the Tektronix I picked up at a Hamfest for $80.

The quite a few software scopes on the web that run thru your soundcard
and are FREE.....

Look for the Right Mark Audio Analyzer, awesome tool, FREE FREE FREE.....

And you can post results straight off the program suite, no farting around.

I'll have to look into that.
Last time I looked around the programs were $200-300, I can't remember if it came with any hardware.

I was using the cap chain to get a phase shift, anyway, I've been cleaning.
All the gack gets shoved to the side, as you see, and then picked over for
hard ware and usable bits to scab up idea's, save your turn around time with repairs etc....
There's always vintage parts to build with, the beauty of keeping busy.

I'm in three rooms, the largest is 12 x 15, one is an old entry way with a small closet,
Another is 8x9, I've got two 8 ft. benches, drill press, scroll saw, break
3 computers, bone yard, a sewing machine for canvas and leather, rack gear
a pile of monitors, half stack, old speakers, stands, wood storage, metal storage, tool storage, full rolls
of tolex, library, recording gear, guitars, component storage. etc etc......
A massive heap of stuff, I'm running on this and that, and theres the misses,
the kids and the mother in law just out the door , good grief.

I might get a pict posted tomorrow, Your shops look like you have a day job.
Get life....spend more time in your shop..... make a mess.

yes and no

It's a tube driver "designed by R. K. Butler" but made by tube works. At the right time and in the right mood it's pretty awesome in a contract the perineum kind of way.
