Got to stay at a hotel in Worcester. On the wall behind the checkin desk there was a series of clocks showing time in the important cities of the world: Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, like that. And the middle clock: Woosta.
Other towns have similar solutions. Gloucester = Glosstah, but Dorchester, well there's no fix for Dorchester. Dorchester's for dorks.
Cbass, I think you will be very happy with your new station. FYI, if you use distilled water on the sponge and tin the tip when you are finished it should last you a looong time.
You guys are right, I just sort of mentally put 'r's in there, but I remember now, 'You need to pahk the cah.'
Man, I really enjoyed Boston, and Gloucester. I've got to take my wife there some day to that restaurant on the pier that serves a mean stuffed lobster.
Oh, and the Bloody Mary mix they sell at the Bull and Finch, still trying to figure out that recipe. I know it has a splash of clam juice.

Had to pick just one quote...please excuse...
Here is what looks to be the definitive guide: http://www.worcestermass.com/pronounce/ ... unty.shtml
My personal favorite is Scituate. The first time I saw that place, I knew enough to avoid saying the name of the place.

That's actually pretty good Phil, thanks for the laugh.
I've been using two WS51s for several years (one for each bench, pencil and chisel tips) and I use filtered water out of the fridge, but I haven't been religiously tinning the tip when I'm done for the day. I use 700 deg F and Cardas Quad Eutectic.
Could that have something to do with me not being able to solder that Kimber 7-strand 19 ga. wire? I think it was billy z that likes that wire, and I noticed he said he uses the WS51 too.
