FYI anyone holding off with a MBP/MBA just do it now. The battery autonomy gain is just AMAZING, easily an extra hr on my 2011 13", but you have to switch to Safari if you aren't already. This is impressive behind the seems work, non-Mac guys can rant all they want but Apple sweats the details.

Why Safari? Were some of the battery optimizations built into the browser? I thought they were all in the OS itself.

it's got to be the browser too, or at least it's integration w/ the os. when compared to FF battery difference is just incredible. I stopped checking the battery level. Haven't spent time w/ Chrome.
