I'm an alien born in the south. I might not share the politics, but having lived in SC, GA, and TX, there's no way I can escape the BBQ, and the DIY attitude. I was adding nitrous to a VW in high school.

I can make pulled pork in three different styles; North Carolina, Georgia, and mustard based low country SC style. My brisket kicks ass. And now in the NW I have learned the NW indian style of smoked salmon.

Every time I go back to the Gulf Coast I bring back a load of shrimp. Try as might I can't find any fried as good as mine and of course we got okra in the garden for my Mama's gumbo recipe.
