My pit showed up walking down the street one morning, and came up to me while I was relaxing on the porch. Looked like she had just had pups, so I reckon the previous owner just kept them and abandoned her. I was dealing with a breakup at the time, but Bonnie made me realize that I upgraded bitches.
Sweet disposition, and is now well house broken,...not so much then.

That's cute. I used to have a brindle dog when I was a kid. She was a good puppy.
Re: Another dog thread.
I had a golden retriever/black lab mix in the 80's who could understand a good deal of the English language. People would say I was crazy, but I know you guys understand. I know that some dogs can pick up human language.
Now I have Hank, who is the weirdest looking dog I ever saw. Gonna post a picture of him later. He looks like he was pasted together from parts of several different dogs. He's a stubborn little bugger.

Don't you boys know any NICE songs?

What is it about stuffed toys, pillows, comforters, etc. that make a dog want to tear them to pieces?
Our Rottie will get a new stuffed toy with a squeaker and within minutes she has it open and pulls out the squeaker and all the stuffing.
Then she tries to cover up the damage by resting her head on top of it like we won't guess what she has done.
Or other dog Shadow, can play with a stuffed animal for months without much damage.
He loves to make them squeak!
I also agree that a smart dog will have a large vocabulary.
Shadow knows everybody's name and if you tell him to pickup the blue ball verses the red ball, he gets it right every time.

Roy our Graet Dane decided to try and eat a hole through our drywall one night when we stayed out too late. Luckily he didn't get all the way through so we could patch it.
My old little mutt Mr T (who was in the never released movie Tug with Sam Huntington, brag) had a small stuffed bear he would make sweet love to everyday for years. He lives with my daughter now but the bear is long gone, poor little guy.

Yep, both the current boxer pup Rufus and the late, great husky Buddy apparently hate the sqeekers, but just love pulling out that internal fluff. It must be a kinder, gentler evisceration. And it you say anything, you get that "What?" look.
I believe that dogs do understand language, and they speak volumes with their faces, most of which is hilarious.

It's a guitar amplifier. How hard can it be?

Hank is a frankenstein dog pasted together from a Bassett hound and some other things - probably Heeler.

Hank is one hell of a fine looking animal. He has that permanent look of: "You got anything to eat?" Mine has that look too.boots wrote:Hank is a frankenstein dog pasted together from a Bassett hound and some other things - probably Heeler.
