roflmao.

Lawrence Welk, Miles, and Hendrix would have been kind of interesting. It may have happened at least once. ;)

It's been done. It comes out sounding like Weird Al Yankovic.

Ugh, Lawrence Welk

I used to spend Sunday evenings with the grandfolks growing up. They always watched LW at 6pm (and I had to endure an hour of that highly purified sh!t in order to get to The World of Disney at 7pm). I would do anything to pass that hour (read, draw...), but that crap goes viral in your brain. It's insidious, you can't escape it. I think taking a bullet each week might have been easier.

The messed up part of it is that to this day, I know everyone on that show by sight, the f*cked up costumes, the f*cked up songs, the f*cked up singing...watching Joe Feeney sing Danny Boy with that absurd vibrato, christ, I still think I need some therapy (shudder) What is so funny is that stuff is genuinely legit for some people!

"...And so folks, take Geritol every day..."

I consider myself lucky, Colossal. I used to watch Hee Haw with my Granddad. Some of it was pretty hokey and the outfits were pretty lame too, but they had nice looking girls and some really good guitar pickers.

This thread took on a life of it's own. I think this is as far as we can drift away from Hendrix and still be on this planet.

^^^ Yes, but what about the bubbles? Surely, as a kid, you enjoyed the bubbles?

Haha, yes! I used to watch Hee Haw too! The musicianship was top notch on both Hee Haw and LW but I would gladly watch smokin' chicken pickin' and hot country chicks any day over that awful 'champagne music'.

Roy and Buck were awesome. And how could you not love Minnie Pearl? (and the price tag hanging off her hat).

Ladies and gentlemen...Mr. Conway Twitty...[sound of needle ripping off the record]

Loved the bubbles because that meant the show was OVER! Weeeeeeee......

Whoa, sorry guys, that was one helluva digression. Ok, let's get back to Jimmy!

I miss these things because they remind me of the important things in my life.

And a onea anda twoa...

Grand pomp. People used to dress their best to take a stinking bus ride to Oklahoma. I miss this thing most dearly. Isn't that odd? Yep.

My name is Lawrence Miles Hendrix.

Aside from the horror of relieving those tedious moments of the LW show, yes, they do remind me of those days with the dear grand folks. I miss them terribly.

Lawrence Welk is originally from Southwestern North Dakota and growing up in North Dakota you can be sure we were exposed to his music and the show by my parents, until I left the farm

I want to be Jimi Hendrix at everything I do, and I want to touch people in that same way. I try, I swear I try. Jimi wasn't technically the best at any single thing he did but he was a master at making it amazing.

Angel came down from Heaven yesterday and stayed here just long enough to rescue me.. and like that and stuff and junk.

I want to be amazing!
