I'd say it isn't his turn any more. New election, new target.

"We have staked the whole future of the American civilization not upon the power of government, far form it. We have staked the future on the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God"

-James Madison, the "Father of the US Constitution"
"Madison made a major contribution to the ratification of the Constitution by writing, with Alexander Hamilton and John Jay, the Federalist essays. In later years, when he was referred to as the "Father of the Constitution," Madison protested that the document was not "the off-spring of a single brain," but 'the work of many heads and many hands.'" http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/preside ... esmadison/

Do your research. You can start by researching David Barton. What you will find is that he made up a lot of bogus quotes that he attributed to the "founding fathers." The previously used quote being one of them. He has admitted doing so.

Closing Gitmo is a HUGE mistake. Obama seems to think the image of the US to other countries is more important than our own safety - gimme a break. I'm sorry, I don't feel any sympathy for terrorists.

Excatly! Does anyone actually give a F**K what a foreign country - say France - thinks of us???

How about we take all those terrorist rat bastards and put them in Nancy, Stink-Eye, Pelosi's back yard (Alcatraz)???

So now we take MORE tax payer dollars, give these guys "proper" legal council and ensure their "rights" are protected by the US constitution.

Is it just me or has the US lost it's mind???

I know I don't. Has France really ever helped us? But we saved their arses from the Nazi's.

Does the constitution really apply to (accused) foreign terrorists? I mean, they're not US citizens.

While I agree that closing Gitmo is a bad idea, we have to care what other countries think of us, especially the ones with nukes. That doesn't mean we always do what everyone thinks we should, and I think in this case particularly, closing gitmo could have serious consequences. But the attitude of "who cares what any foreign country thinks of us" is the surest way I can think of to take a nuke up the jacksie.

Maybe I’m just ignorantly & blissfully over confident but I’m not worried about a nation which already possesses nukes to actually use them – especially against us. What I AM worried about is rogue nations acquiring such a device and detonating one in NY harbor. I believe a jihad waging, scumbag c**k smoking, myopic troglodyte terrorist wouldn’t hesitate to volunteer and “pull the pin” on a nuke.

Guys, we could argue all day long about how we, as a country, need to be more “progressive” (read liberal) in order to grow, be popular with the rest of the world etc., the truth is there are people who would like nothing more than to destroy the US from the inside out and I believe they are making serious headway with the wedge of divisiveness being driven through our core. There has never successfully been any nation who desired to be more “progressive” and is simultaneously a strong nation. Look at England, France, Germany, Spain, etc., the only values that have stood the test of time are those rooted firmly in tradition and not “progression.” Doubt that claim? Then explain to me why radical Islam is running amok in those countries and the nations themselves are too “pussified” to do anything about it for fear of offending the Muslim community? Radical Islam is based on “traditional values” – ain’t a single thing progressive about them other than they keep growing stronger and their radical ways are being imposed on the spineless.

The UK now allows for civil cases to be heard in either British or Sharia Law – WTF is that all about???? Let’s see, I live in the UK but I want to be tried under a different set of laws because of my personal beliefs…. They’re getting away with it folks. How long before that schitt storm settles in the US?

Just for the record, although I do not want President Hussein to be successful with respect to installing his liberal, government controlled agenda; I DO wish him safety throughout his tenure. The worst thing that could happen to our nation is an assassination. I feel that in itself would spark a racial divide like no other and perhaps even ignite a civil war.

I think she ought to have one or two as domestic servants– maybe to babysit her grand kids. Oh, and save one or two for John Murtha

Well put!

I especially like the assumption that all those folks held in Gitmo are guilty of terrorism. Wake up a smell the torture...I mean hypocrisy folks!

Switzerland already agreed to take custody of the Gitmo detainees, so fear not.

Now enough of the insipid, pseudo-intellectual banter and get back to building amps!!!

 I’m terribly sorry; I forgot I was conversing with an “Obamoron.” Here’s the correct reference:

Now is it the truth?

By the way, arguing with someone on the internet is like participating in the Special Olympics, even if you win, you’re still retarded.
