I never could get into the Eagles.I like some of their songs It's the kinda music I should like. There is something I can't quite put my finger on Maybe its just a little to slick and over produced. Its got a lot of country tones but I just don't feel it.I wouldn't pay that much money to see anyone, ridiculous

Seen them twice, once back in the day, then at Staples Center in 99. Paid way too much for box seats, and the mix was meh for 1/2 the show. Now I get concert DVD's and watch bands at home. Sick of bozos who mix rock bands like hip hop or rap groups.

+1! This way you can see them as they were, and as many times as gou like. Lots of good clips on You Tube too. Spend your live show dollars on up-and-comming artists whose work you appreciate.

Yup, anymore it seems almost every show is mixed by a douchebag that is in love with bass/sub and has no idea what the terms mid-range or fidelity mean. The sound was so bad at an Eagles show in Denver, that they had to refund money. They blamed it on the stadium. Glad I didn't pay for that fiasco.[/code]

Good photo rd! The Framster, pickin' along with country's top pickers, who'd a thunk it !?!

And now, the bEagles. If you have any $$ left after buying your ticket, they'll take it before you're allowed to leave.

Who the hell puts reverb on kick drums, I don't count my self as a master of mixing but even I could have done a better job, the vocals sounded like they were in the grand canyon , the guitars were way over eq'ed with piercing top end, the only real decent bit was Joe Walsh and Schmit, the rest need to retire and not inflict dross like that on paying customers

The problem is they are soulless and so is most of their music.

You ever seen Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction?

The dude has a rack mount effects unit for his vocals that he controls.

Nope! When he came out from backstage he was rubbing his head and the crowd was cheering. He replaced a line in Lines on my Face with "almost cut my hair..."

I had no idea the man could play blues like he does. Wow.

I thought this was just me. This drives me crazy. I remember going to concerts where the sound was immaculate. I saw King Crimson on the Three of a Perfect Pair tour[\i] and it sounded better than the album, articulate and very 3d.

I get so frustrated going to clubs in Seattle, where the bass/lower midrange is pumped up and a rock band just sounds a bunch of noise.

Even the alternative bands that play cleaner still sound like mush. It's like I'm listening to the concert in the trunk of a ricer.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Mr. Fripp does not settle for second best.

Some bands / artists DO care, and spend accordingly. I'm all for that.

I saw the Eagles in Vancouver on the original reunion tour in '95. Don Felder stole the show, I mean absolutely played everyone (including Walsh) under the stage, I joked he played like he needed the money the most. The rest were relatively solid, but Felder made a good show into a GREAT show.

I couldn't imagine ever enjoying an Eagles concert without Felder as much. As a matter of fact, when Glenn Frey gave me free tickets to an invite only Eagles concert at the Nokia Center a few years ago (we shared a doctor in L.A.), I gave them away.

I saw the Discipline tour at the Agora Ballroom in Atlanta. The sound was pristine! Excellent! And their performance was note perfect.

When I want to appreciate the Eagles I listen to the old recordings which remind me of the early to mid 1970's while I was in the Marines, great music.

We all age and our playing changes, damn arthritis. :)

Saw the Eagles on their very first tour right after that first LP came out. Bernie on guitar...

They were the opening act for YES doing the "Close To The Edge" tour. Talk about very diverse musical styles....
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.
