I think there is a well known case where a property owner was tired of getting stuff stolen from his vehicles.
So he wired up some high voltage to the car body.

Yep, a night or two later a perp was trying to get in and got electrocuted.

The man was brought up on charges because it was premeditated murder.

Police can't protect you much at all anymore, you have to take proactive steps such as camera's or a Louisville Slugger. :D

I think it's pathetic that the law sides with the criminal and they have evolved to rely on and exploit this weakness. Entrapment should be considered doing one's civic duty. The root cause of that electrocution was not premeditated, it is the reaction and consequence of someone being somewhere and doing something they shouldn't have in the first place and that's just unconscious knowledge. Where it comes to me and mine, better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.
