Winning!
Yes. Spot on!
Problem is, how do we vote them out of office if they own 45% of the electorate by virtue of (the politicians, regardless of stripe) buying those votes via federal benefits? Add in the problem of gerrymandering and the problem is compounded. Then add another 30 million illegals to the voter pool, who will sell their votes to the party that doles out the benefits.

The grass-roots level of the so-called Tea Party (not the Republican infiltrators that have tried to co-opt the movement) are Constitutionalists that are the same type of folks that fought for civil rights and women's rights. They aren't the ones any of us should worry about, in spite of efforts to demonize them by the mainstream media and liberal progressives (anti-constitutionalists).
I used to be a staunch Republican. I don't know where it all went wrong. The ideals of small government got corrupted a long time ago and now the party is driven by greed and special interests. I don't see it turning around any time soon.
"I used to sleep at the foot of Old Glory and awake in the dawn's early light. But much to my surprise, when I opened my eyes, I was a victim of the Great Compromise." - John Prine.
Proud to have served but I wouldn't volunteer now - nor encourage anyone else to. This has all gone so wrong...
I wish only the best to those affected by this recent shutdown. I know that the people most affected were the ones least able to weather losing their income. It sucks that people got hurt while Congress was flailing and failing to meet their obligations.

That might be an issue if it were true. The Republicans are governing my state which has a HUGE Hispanic population. The media seems to have a greater influence on the less-educated, less-informed, population. Who gets to vote for what media controls the country?

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical." - Thomas Jefferson.
We are living in a time where "Live free or die" has more meaning with each passing day.
I couldn't believe how stupid the house has been acting and no indication that they understand what they just did to American's and people around the world with this childish act of government shut down.
I worked for 33 years at Veteran Affairs (VA) and I worked through every shut down, proud to help my fellow veteran's and they would thanks us for being there for them.
Yes many government workers just got a free vacation on furlough once they found out they would be reimbursed, not the workers fault.
I do remember when President Clinton was in office he was very hard on us government works at that time and many VA employee's had to go find work to pay bills. They have you on standby just like military, they call every day with information and to get feed back from you as well (call list).
Well my retirement check is okay for now but no guarantee with this bunch of fools. Many times I wished I would have found a different line of work but once your invested with government you have to stick it out the full 32 years of employment to get full retirement so your stuck. This only true for those of us that are older and were under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS). New employees were changed over to the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) which they pay social security and setup a personal Thrift Savings Account to invest in stocks for an annuity retirement account.
I had enough private work history to max my Social Security too if there will be any money left after Government has taken it and placed IOU slips in the fund.

yep -noone gets it.
'There is no I in team'
thats why they call it a political party - because their a team.
Im tired of blaming someone else - might as well say 'I suck and refuse to work with anyone whos different' : obama and bohner - LISTEN UP!
UPSIDE: Were making a killing in the stock market because of this - I actually think its a ploy to up the market for all the big investors (like mr. boner and obamacantcare)
it really is a journey, and you just cant farm out the battle wounds
