That one is going on 2 years old and I've yet to find time to fire it. .22-250 Ackley Improved varmint rifle. The other one above is a toned down version in .308. I'm still dragging out the .22 Hornet for the local varmints, as there are no long range shots to be had on the farm, these days. Too many people around the boarders.

Jack
I have two 22-250's that I have basically retired because at medium ranges it doesn't get much better than my 6BR. I mainly shoot encroached farms now as well and since most shots are under 275 yards or so I normally will take my Sako 17Mach IV or one my .20 wildcats. I did build me a Varmint AR last year which I haven't taken out yet.

How about everyone else?

Firearms, drag racing and some engine building. Do you reload too?

TM
I do reload. I shoot mostly open in uspsa, so I reload large quantities of 38 supercomp for my STI.

Yeah, I reload as well. I've been aquiring parts to build me a 9x23 Commander. Are you using Starline or Win brass? I wish Grafs or Powder Valley would import Vectan powders back into the US. I would love to get some SP2 again.

Most of my expensive hobbies have been on the back burner for a while due to work, raising kids, etc. But back in the day they were ham radio, rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, etc. Work is good, but too much work is bad....

I use starline 38 supercomp cases with vv 3n38 powder.
There was a guy in georgia who had about 500-1000 lbs of sp2 imported late last year. He sold it all pretty quick, however he doesn't want to deal with the import headaches again.

Gigging, recording and recently a little bit of lutherie. Those tools get expensive in a hurry.

Non-musical - I have been remodeling my 50 year old house for the last six years. It looks like I have about four more years to go.

Best part of living in an older neighborhood - retirees keeping an eye on your house during the day and no civic association.

I dig guns as well.

I have a Colt Match AR-15 that is a lot of fun to shoot at stuff 200+ yards.
It's got the flat top detachable sight/ handle so I can mount a 6 x 24 scope.

I also tricked out a couple Ruger 10-22's with thumbhole stocks and fluted bull barrels, comp triggers, etc.

About 10 years ago I bought a Ruger 22 magnum, bolt action, stainless, bull barrel, scope.
Man is that thing accurate!
Great for shooting sage rats.

I was blowing those things up out past 200 yards.

I always wanted to build a 22-250 for rock chucks but the guy I used to go varmint hunting with moved out of the area.
He had all the farmer contacts and knew all the great spots to go to.

I haven't shot any of my guns in several years.
I have to drive so far now to get to a place where we can shoot.

My wife enjoys shooting (targets only) too so that makes it fun.

When I was in grad school, I used to shoot .45 bullseye and PPC - Springfield Armory.

Nowadays much of my attention - aside from electrics and amps - is back to saxophones and acoustic guitars.

I lost my detailed post from yesterday but I used to reload for 40S&W, 44mag, 38sp (non +P), .308 and 45/70. I started with a manual press doing the .308 rounds for my Savage model 12 (bull barrel) to go shoot varmints and such but I quickly got tired of spending hours on end trimming cases, cleaning primer pockets, weighing individual charges and setting up the seating and crimp dies every time. 50 bullets took me a good 3-4 hours, 100 bullets was about 4 hours min. I eventually upgraded to a progressive press but didn't load for .308 with it, just 40S&W, 45/70 and 44mag mostly. It was a lot of fun to go shoot silhouettes with the 45/70 and 44mag but this eventually got prohibitively expensive, especially when lead and brass went up so much in price. Silhouette shooting is by far my favorite activity, especially when you can start consistently hitting 220 yard goats with steel sights :D.

It's great that reloading makes shooting so much cheaper but as of now I don't really shoot much anymore and so all of my reloading equipment is boxed away. Got lotsa powder and primers sitting around too. I should probably sell some of that stuff off now..

I have a hobby so expensive I can't afford to indulge in it.
