Sorry guys......
As Norwegian, I can report the following:
As of now, sunday night local, 93 people are dead - 7 in the bomb blast in the center square of our government blocks, and 86 massacered at the summer camp of the norwegian labour party. The bomb blast in our government block was technically a copy of the Oklahoma affair, - but the same person who rigged the bomb, one hour later entered the summer camp masked as a police officer. The camp have been arranged for decades now, and is located at a small island in a lake , appx 20 miles off Oslo, our capital. Here he massacered so far 86, some 40 or more still injured, some rather critical, - most of them aged 14-20..........some are still missing. The miserable SOB, some wacko nationalist, anti muslim, - calles-himself-a- night-templar, was arrested by a SWAT team appx 1 hr after the shooting starte. Remember - this is in the outbacks of rural Oslo - with massive police focus on the bomb blast that has just occured, with total mayhem over dseveral blocks in central Oslo

At the bomb site in central Oslo, 7 was killed and som 15 in hospital , some still missing, according to police reports.

Norway used to be a quiet corner of the world - sadly no more so.
I live way up north, but youngsters from all over the country are involved, and so are their families.

What can one say? Surely, I'm MASSIVELY PO'ed, -MAD as hell, but what does that do, or who does it help?

"Look not for reason in the deeds of a mad man - 'cause there are none ! "

At a police press conference being aired just now, the number of dead youngsters at the camp have been reduced to 68, but there are still people missing.
The police actaually had good expanations for the wrong number, but even this "reduction" does not make the whole situation any less absurd...

A real tragedy.

The bomb must have been massive to cause that much damage.
Thankfully none of the buildings came down.

My condolences to all the family's that lost loved ones from this tragic event.

Hopefully they can get all the needed information from this mad man.

In scope not really, best guess is an ANxO device similar to what the IRA has used. I wish they would get this right, it's not the same device cocktail that was used at OKC. It it had been, you would see a slightly different blast signature and more structural damage.

This was no simple act of some lone nut grabbing info off the internet, it was a very well planned operation. Where's there's one, there are more.

Pray for the victims

Jim and others, I'm fine here in Norway.

the bomb appears to be a 500+ kilos fertilizer bomb made of diezel and ordinary farming products. the details are readily availble in the killer's 1500pp. manifest.

the killer hated not only muslims but also multiculturalist who allow muslims in europe. This appears to be reason why he attacked both the goverment and the norwegian labour party. again, this is based on his 1500pp. manifest

The early death estimates were a bit high now standing at 76.

Nevertheless, still a massive number for one man to kill.

Norway must not have much violent crime at all since the maximum sentence was 21 years for this crime.

I did hear there is a longer 30 year term for crimes against humanity.

What I find very odd is he is protesting the unflux of Muslim people into Europe, yet he commits an act of terrorism generally associated with an Islamic terrorist group.

I think he is insane.

we don't have many murders here, and even less terrorist attacks. this has also contributed towards a generally low security level.

Its possible to keep him in jail much more than 21 year or even 30 years if he poses a threat towards society (so-called forvaring). but I'm not sure hard punishments decrease criminality really.

its quite possible, even probable, that he never gets out of jail because of "forvaring"

Forvaring is such a great term: in storage.
A better punishment, and much cheaper for the state than keeping him in storage, would be surgical alteration i.e. gender re-assignment and let him spend rest of his life as a woman in some warm country under Sharia law.

Or make him eat nothing but rakfisk for the rest of his miserable life. Surely, that would be too much even for a Norwegian.

Well, slightly off-topic from the original post, but being sentenced to eating rakfisk would be like manna for some norwegian as least .....
it can actually be very good, properly made, of course.....
