I think the real issue, independent of political affiliation or generational divide
is that we are faced with our own dependency, upon the economy and public
institutional structures that we don't have any real control over. This is purposeful. We live in a republic.
By not being more active and using the democratic mechanisms afforded
us in our constitution you permit the corporate behavior that we are all
witnessing. The only reason that the credit card industry can get away
with the intrest rates that they impose is because one state has made it legal to do so.

If your are pissed, use your state legislature to the purpose that it was
intended.

This nation started with documents that made it through a legislative process
with the provision that we the people were only given a limited democracy.
Have you ever asked why?

Right on...

On the bail out...

You do bail= until the next one

I have done everything up to and including filing suit against the Commonwealth of Kentucky. You still can't change anything :?

Who advocated for more regulation and who rebuffed it?

Because the founders were smart enough to understand a concept called tyranny of the masses. Don't they teach DeTocqueville in school any more?

exactly.......... Imagine if this forum ran the world.

who would throw the first shoe? I'm just as frustrated.

Two of the only three true democrats left in Washington, Snowe and Collins, are from Maine, and also happen to be republicans.

I've settled on a septic tank model of government, shit floats, the big pieces
float to the top.

Sounds exactly like the same kind of hype used by insurance companies to sell you something you don't need. I refuse to believe that the United States rests on the shoulders of AIG and other idiot big shots. Let them go down the tubes with all the other crooks who can't manage other peoples money correctly. Slightly off topic........with dolts like Nancy Pelosi leading the nation, what else can we expect? She thinks it's un-American to enforce imigration laws. Give me a break. What an idiot.

I heard the the economy has gotten so bad that every time they catch a
Mexican trying to leave, they make them spend a night in jail in North Dakota.
They end up working their way back to the southern boarder, which before
they get shipped back to the Dakota's, helps the rest of us immigrants to feel
that there is an economy in the first place.
