The Who on VH1
Just watched a video from 2006. Damn i wish I could windmill without making my hand bleed. I had forgotten how genius Pete Townsend was. Made hie Fender Vibro Kings talk back.
I've got blisters on my fingers!

Yeah that's a great concert.
I wonder if he ever has had any shoulder problems from windmilling?
On a side note that little band from Texas was on the other night, on the MHD channel which is Hi Def.
They had these big square custom Crate amps (endorser?) stacked up behind Billy and Dusty.
Billy was playing a custom Billy Bo Gretsch with pin striping.
Dusty was playing a Fender bass with reversed neck which also had matching pin striping.
What strikes me as strange is that Billy can cop all the vintage ZZ Top tones with this setup. Must be the hands?
No pedal board.
I watched a cool DVD the other day called Fuzz: The Sound That Revolutionized the World.
It's a cool video chronicling the Fuzz tone effect and other pedals.
Well worth the watch. I got mine through Netflix.
Billy is on there talking about his Expandors. Hooking up six in a row!
Anyway I have always noticed that Billy doesn't have a pedal board in front of him when he is playing.
His tech is off stage pressing the buttons for him!
Some kind of looper like a TC where one button turns on up to three or four pedals at once.
His tech said that Billy will use a phlanger for example, for like three notes on one song in the set.
So the guy has to be on his toes!

When I saw them in Nashville, they had NO amps on stage. They may not even have the Crates hooked up. It must be nice to have someone else do the pedal dance for youStructo wrote: ... His tech is off stage pressing the buttons for him!

they use a lot of stage "prop" amps. billy has offstage iso boxes with miked cabs in them. in the past he's driven them with marshall pre and power rack units but i don't know exactly what he uses presently.
