More virtual amp propaganda

Post by Reeltarded »

I can't stop playing strats.. because.. You know the texture and space of "Are You Experienced?".. You know the spectral twisted reality that was projected onto tape.. it sounds like molasses described by an alien.

Impossible.

The Wind Cries Mary sound.. you know the goosebumps when you hear it start. Imagine if every note convinced you to feel that way. I can't stop playing, like to a point of starvation some days and that feels like it used to, in the time when nothing else mattered even a little.

If I knew better and had the chance, I swear I would do it all over.. same. exact. thing. But more.

I hear you(from here :D ). I don't know another guitar that gives more. You'd think one would be enough. Sad thing is - there are a couple more around here.......

For this sound a 45/100 with 520+v really stands out. If it gets too strident, just adjust NFB from 27k to 33k or 39k

After a little more hammering through salt and pepper cabs I have a sound people need to hear.

I will always have at least one Strat in my arsenal.
I cannot seem to bond with a Tele while so many players do. I am working on a T style guitar using an 80's Yamaha body with a belly cut, humbucker in the neck and stacked Tele style bridge, both are Seymour Duncan. Also a more modern 6 saddle bridge. Should be fun.

I bond with them because I use them like Fender Les Pauls.

:)

Telecasters are fat mouthed monsters, a hand-held locomotive, but I think with vintage output, the Helen Keller cap snipped, and a very resonant body. Sounds similar to AC/DC on P-90 or closer maybe to alnico-V. Thumpanthump.

I've always been a Strat guy. My first electric was a Strat copy. Then in '80 I bought a Les Paul. Tried to bond with it but no joy. 5 Strat's since then. Current and final lineup is an original '66 and the Paulownia Strat i built last year. It's perfect. No need for more, or parts swapping etc.
I've tried other folks Tele's, and was horrified. Of the two pickups, the choice was dull or screechy. Selector switch was at the wrong angle, and the bridgeplate messed with my picking.
I built one for my wife, as it's simple, for her to learn on. It sounded and played better than any of the ten or so I've previously dissed. So...I built myself one from Paulownia and dammit, I can't stop playing it.
It will never replace my Strat, but it's still a great guitar that gets played everyday.
These three get played everyday I'm in town.

Lovely, that wood is the best ever for quiet or loud. It acts like a Super 400 facing two stacks when you hit about 95db! lol

I LOVE the spalted Ricky thing.

The Tele pickups start screaming long before the Wood hums.
It does look at little spalted but it's Black Limba.
