Re: RIP Ziggy Stardust
Heard about it via BBC about 3AM.
New album "Blackstar", what I've heard sounds interesting & different, some terrific guitar sounds.
I worked on his 1987 Glass Spider tour, you can view lots o photos on the goog. David gave it all he had, worked himself to a frazzle, was always a gentleman. He and the band, dancers & crew put on a helluva show, 87 of 'em in fact. I'd have done it again in an instant.

2 hour video youtube, a wild, bizarre & at times macabre show:

I'll spend some time today watching this, yez'all can join me.

Sad news indeed. A true artist and great musician.

Re: RIP Ziggy Stardust
I saw him perform in Cincinnati in the late 70's, I think. Too long ago..
About the only thing I remember is when he sang "Space Oddity" while sitting in a chair on a hydraulic boom. He sang into a telephone handset with a ball mic capsule. Alladin Sane I think would be my favorite of his music.
Yes, a tremendous artist indeed! RIP mr jones

Re: RIP Ziggy Stardust
This morning's NY Times had an article in the Arts/Entertainment section announcing the event this spring. Ironic that the announcement appeared today. Sad day.
