PCB power supply?

Post by Phil_S »

I went into Garage Talk because I'm not sure where this belongs or how appropriate it might be for the Tech section. Here, possibly, we have an enterprising person (not me) offering this:

What's your take on both the item and pricing?

Looks cool! Just need to know if the traces are heavy and good. You go first.

At $23 with shipping, I'm not really sure I want one. Like many here, I've learned to like what works for me. That said, I'm not wed to any particular thing so much that I can't introduce something new.

On the one hand, that board will allow a simple way to use inexpensive radial caps. But that won't save me a sawbuck on a build to compensate for the cost of the board. So, it comes down to convenience and layout.

When I can, I use axial caps and I place them close to the point of the B+ supply take off. This board sends it in a whole different direction and messes with the way I generally run the grounds.

So, Idaknow. I was hoping someone else would go first ;)
