New Book

This just landed via Amazon. Jimmy has sold more guitars for Gibson than anyone ever. I liked his Tele years best....

Arg, I just had to order that along with Burst Believers I and II.

Huge Page fan, saw him with the firm in the 80's at Wings stadium in Kalamazoo. He was chain smoking Marlboro 100's with drool hanging off down to his knees. He nailed everything and sounded amazing. The only time I made it to the very front of a show and we made eye contact, it kinda creep-ed me out a little.

thanks for sharing, I didn't know they had an affordable copy of that available.

Heroin is a bad drug.

I'm from the camp that thinks the studio recordings of Led Zep were far better
than the live shows.

I saw them around 1974 or so and he was wasted, couldn't really play the songs let alone the solo's.

I still respect him as a great guitar player, but not really at live shows.

I'm sure there are people that think every thing he did was god sent but in reality, he was high on just about every show.
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!

I saw them in 1975 on the tour when he had the broken finger:

Jimmy did look very wasted. There was a 30 to 45-minute drum solo, and the girl I took to the concert got bored, and we left.

But I still love them. When I lived in Washington DC, Led Zep was the only band our black friends and white friends both loved.

The song The Ocean was especially popular at that time, and my wife and I actually danced to it

Phil

Yeah I have that on their DVD in the West or something like that. Great show, also the "supershow" perfomance is pretty good. Fun to see Pages arsenal of effects too like the Wah and Fuzz, echo and violin bow....

These DVD's changed my whole opinion of Zep live, way better than The Song Remains The Same. The later stuff is scary good, so intense I had to take a break.

this is pretty sweet
