I swear, the lady can sure haul em' in!

I'm not sure what this one weighed in at...but it's huge by Oklahoma standards. She should go pro.

cool picture! thanks for sharing :D

i LOVED bass fishing, growing up in Maine i mostly liked fly-fishing for bass. snooty tooty fisherman would laugh at me when i would tell them about what i had caught on my fly rod. "fly fishing is for trout" whatever....

i used to tie my own flies to resemble the shape of a small frog, hollow deer hair compressed in one spot makes it fluff up, couple of those and then trim it to make it dive when yanked and give a little gurgle. man, those bass would NAIL those little devils!!! then the fight was on!! miss it a lot, you need to go with her if you haven't already, get some tips

missin the fishin, it was THIS big hahaha

Northern California has good fly fishing. Head up to the Fall River near Mt. Shasta.

you are correct as usual Mr. Manning :D

my current hangups are: licenses are FREAKING expensive in Cali, would have to figure out a way to carry my 9ft (2 pieces and 2 tips, so more like 4.5ft) bamboo flyrod on my motorcycle AND i am SOOO busy with work, school, appointments and general recovery i have NO time to do anything fun....

i really want to visit Mt. Shasta sometime, definitely before i leave Cali, there is a lot i want to do and no time to do it... have all the gear though, 'cept the permit

thanks for the tip Martin! :D

Wow nice catch!

I've seen a few that big in some of the local slough's.

Can't hardly get to them because of the brush.

Thanks for the comments, guys!

It's interesting to visit with other fishermen from different parts of the country and hear some of their fishing experiences. I didn't even know there was a single bass in maine!

Eniam, you caused me to remember how much I enjoyed fishing for bluegill with a fly rod. Usually just to pass the time till the sun started going down...and the largemouth started stirring! We do a lot of fishing in big farm ponds around here. Always exciting...you never know what's lurking down below. I nailed a ten pounder on my wall about three years ago from a farm pond.

I miss fishing, too. Bad. So busy these days...i gotta make some time to go before the cold hits. That's kinda why I posted the pic. Even if we can't always spare the time to go, seeing someone who's caught a big old fish can stir up some nice memories of lazy summer afternoons. Crap. I wanna go fishing!

two kinds, large and small mouth, if the jawline goes past the eye you have a largemouth. we got bluegill there too, call them sunfish (or at least i did  )

last i heard they are having a problem with muskellunge.... those invasive things are NASTY, have NO fight in them and a MOUTHFULL of teeth. reeled in one of these logs and he had swallowed my most product full fly, with hemostats fucker still managed to bite me

several days later in school, a blister had formed and i started messing with it. out pops a tooth the size and shape of a small grain of rice!!! then i bled everywhere hahaha.

also they are decimating the local Atlantic Salmon population, which i had the privilege to fish for during a special limited season (no bites). talked to a Ranger and he told me to kill every one i come across!!! but, times change, may be different now.

oooh, i should take a picture of my bamboo rod i built when i was like 15, gotta dig out my reel. maybe tomorrow.

fish on KellyBass! :D

edit: salmon flies are an artform!!
