My boss climbed Rainier last weekend, the pics looked pretty crazy! They went up 7500 feet or so I think, definitely not to the top.

In 2001 I did a winter climbing course with RMI, which uses their Camp Muir shelter and the Disappointment Cleaver route for glacier travel and crevasse rescue training. It's often used as prep for people wanting to climb Denali (Mt. McKinley) or Himalayan peaks. There is only a slim chance of getting the summit on that course, and as expected the weather wasn't cooperating. I did meet some great people on that trip, and climbed with them on several following occasions.

A couple of years after taking the RMI course I went with a friend of mine from here to try for Mt. Hood and then Mt. Rainier the following weekend, both of which we did :^) On Rainier we used the Kautz Glacier route, which is a little more challenging than the standard tourist route. Had a great time, and had the summit to ourselves when we got there.

We've had a few great rainbows in the last week.

Full end to end beauties!

Of course no pics, but our earth is an amazing place. :D
