Id like to go skydiving before I die, preferably not on the same day.

Nah. I grew up where even the crappy clubs are miced through a PA. No need for that kind of volume. My rig is a 25W amp and a 1x12 Thiele. Loudest amp I'll have is a TW Express when I get around to it.

Win the lottery so I can even consider a bucket list. Barring that, well let's see . . . finish my next amp build?

Btw Jana, I built one of your designs and my little part of the world is definitely a better place for it. (Thx!)

Jana

I'll second that "careful with those amps Eugene" hearing protection. Too many over loud gigs with 100w and 2 cab setup and now ...whoosh white noise all the time. Those amps are nice so put some earplugs in you "quarter century' timers.
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

I worked my ass off until I was 16 then I started screwing off hard. That was middle aged. It didn't get lots better after 32.

Sepulchre, I'm glad you like that amp--that is my favorite amp out of everything I have.

JoeCon, Yup--the white noise wooshing sound that never goes away. Sometimes louder, sometimes not as loud, but always there. Mine has a high pitched whistle along with it.

Mine has these little teensy ringing bells. Real high pitch tinkling like somebody beating on a cowbell about the size of a dime. No, the size of a pencil eraser...no maybe a bell like the size of a gnat maybe. What's really really small and you could make a bell out of it. It keeps me up night wondering what it sounds like you know? That and the voices......

Oh, the voices--I have a lot of good conversations with those voices. :)

Yeah its' that constant high pitch ringing that never stops which I suffer from. The irony is that my high frequency hearing rolls off at 7 khz. Bummer on both accounts. Definitely protect your hearing.

I always have to wonder if that ringing, etc. actually comes and goes or if there's just more background noise at times masking it out. Either way, when it's quiet . . . well, it's Never "quiet".

Same here.
After 35 years of construction noise, loud stereos, and louder guitar amps I am in the same boat.

Always there, sometimes more prevalent than other times.

Mine seems to be very high frequency, above 10KHz

I've heard of people being driven mad by it and suicides as well.

A friend of mine had it really bad but his was like crashing ocean waves.
He finally went to a ear specialist and they designed a couple hearing aid type devices that put out an out of phase noise that cancelled 90% of it for him.

He said he hadn't slept well in months before he got the hearing aids.
