wire strippers
Whats some of the best wire strippers out there? You guys have a favorite brand or style of wire strippers? I'm tired of using my old crappy ones, and I want a good tool that will cut and strip the wire easily.
I've been looking on amazon and reading user reviews on a few different ones, but I though I'd ask what you guys are using. Not that those aren't good user reviews, but I figure people on here will know the best ones out there.

What type of wire are you planning on using?
I like Teflon wire and had trouble stripping it.
The jacket is so slippery none of the auto-strippers worked for me.
Then someone here suggested one that works well.
The Imperial IE-178

Re: wire strippers
+1 on the Imperial strippers for teflon wire. They are much sharper and more precise than any other stripper I've tried.
Here's a link to their catalog page:
http://imperial-tools.com/products/stan ... erscutters
As you can see, they make 2 strippers for 20 ga wire (my favorite size), the E-177 and E-178, as well as the E-180, which is for 22 ga and smaller.
Since they're inexpensive, I recommend buying all 3 of these, and trying them with your particular wire.
The strippers should cut the insulation cleanly all the way around, but not nick the wire (especially important with solid wire). Make 2 cuts so you can clearly see whether or not the first cut nicked the wire (use a magnifying glass).
Then make a little chart and tape it up by your workbench to remember which stripper goes with which wire.

Re: wire strippers
I like to use teflon wire as well, so I will check into those strippers. Keep the suggestions coming guys!
Re: wire strippers
I use Klein, Imperial and Craftsman (made by Klein, I believe). The Imperial auto stripper does a very good job for me, though I haven't tried it on teflon.
Good Luck!

Re: wire strippers
I use the Imperial (shown above) and it is excellent and it handles teflon with ease.
Re: wire strippers
I have the Imperial and Klein 11047 and 11046. I prefer the Klein models.
